The Cheshire Moon is shining
and streetlights seem so high tonight to pollute
the light around his dome and shroud his cratered head
And zombies walk the streets tonight
As everything is still
And as I enter an unlit place
The hunter leaps for thwarted kill
The twists and turns of palm trees rise and fall
As if the sea bent to land to will
And returning safely home I am
With strangers passing by me
In cocoons protruding light
Stark rushed travelers searching for the space
Of night
Driving toward that Cheshire Moon
I’m slowly counting graces
For tiny spotlights over him
Reveal Cheshire faces
And North stars command me home
Back to where I belong
To hear a melancholy blonde girl croon
A melancholy song
My light cocoon is finished
The button has been pressed
My ambient gleam in darkness fades
And I am home again

I like cloning;
Cloning is fun.
I want a twin
Who will be my son.
I want to know
EXACTLY what he needs,
To be there at each step
When he falls and bleeds.
I want to control
Who he will be,
To shape him and mold him
Flawlessly.
I want to unmake
All the mistakes,
That my own father made
When he screwed up me.

Sweet tea and sweet grass
smell it in the air
“you got a smile so bright,
you’re lightin’ up this place like a firefly’s ass”
that’s when I knew
thunderstorm brewing, me and you.
Your damn lovely summer green eyes
my legs stickin’ to the leather seats.
The twang in your voice
callused fingers on my skin
so long ago
but a powder keg then.
Bring me back to life
to them hot summer nights
lyin’ in your flatbed countin’ stars.
Firecracker mouth and hands like the devil
you sure knew how to use ’em.
Me too.
game, set, box of matches.
BOOM.

Pontoum
The sun has set
The sand grows cool
The tourists all packed their things
We sit enjoying the ocean breeze
The sun has set
But we still remain
We sit enjoying the ocean breeze
making a new memory.
But we still remain
Holding hands and watching clouds go by
Making a new memory
Night begins to fall
Holding hands and watching clouds go by
The stars begin to shine
Night begins to fall
This moment is mine.

For a drum
You have to make a sound
To strike, smack, vocalize
To drop, shake, roll
For a drum
You have to have an idea
A rhythm
Something jumping around in your head
Thriving on imagination
Pleading to be free
For a drum
You must show emotion
All of the different sounds coming together
Presenting thoughts, feelings, movement
Anger, dance, serenity
For a drum
You have to have a desire
A want to captivate others
A need to become the music
A love for the music
