The Flight

Your ankles did not birth feathers
like those of the messenger Mercury.
Your shoulder blades did not break open
to allow the emergence
of angel-esque wings.
Yet you have taken flight.

Like a glittering constellation,
Your proud proclamation
of self
lights you from within.
It has propelled you up high,
Where you can defy
every scientific rule.
Look down and see the world
grow smaller beneath you.

They sky is not the limit,
it is simply your highway
to destinations,
near and far,
farther and farthest.

Life is not a race,
it’s not about
that ribbon snapping across your chest.
It’s the journey,
it’s all those moments you stop to breathe,
and it’s all the stops in between.

It’s the flight.

I’ve Got Time for Seconds

The heat getting stronger and stronger….so close to my face
Lubrication all over the both of us….
It’s my first time but I wasn’t expecting so much red in between….
Our mouths open wide as we get closer and closer….
You tell me not to worry, it’ll be great….
I feel that warm white goo going down my throat…
And I look into your eyes: they’re wide open and smiling, completely content….
You stare at me from across what seems like an ocean….
Analyzing how I feel about it: was it good enough, could there have been a little extra something something?
I tell you it was perfect,
I can’t wait to eat another slice of pizza.
I’ve got time for seconds.

Majestikal Smiles

A smile desired while her mentality lapses in time.
The outside sees her smiling,
but deep within it’s upside down.

Using inspiration and motivation,
Reach deep within where this smile is hidden.
Cons of life face you but don’t let them change you.

Turn your back on them.
Look to the sky, the light, the life you once loved.
Feel this sensation to soar to the highest high.

Be a Gemini; a twin and go deep within,
This frown will turn upside down.
A majestikal smile is coming from within!

Soldiers Fight for Love

From our loved lost one
To our beloved long gone
We say well done
For stays firm as a stone.

We fight for what is there
And we will fight for what will be there
But if we rely too much on tomorrow
We may never see what is real right now.

We fought
We fought for now and yesterday
We will fight to live everyday
But tomorrow is another day
And maybe the pain will go away.

We fought for all that we want and all that we know
We fought regardless of the consequences
But we won’t forget ourselves because before we know
Nothing, nothing at all will make any sense.

We resign to lose one of us now
To protect a million of us tomorrow
Well, we know that tomorrow never lies
Tomorrow will never die
Tomorrow will be there
And we know when and where.

Double Abecedarian: Adam’s Eve

By William Graydon

Adam was all the buzz

Being new and all, drunk silly

Cast as Eden’s first FOX

Devouring leafy greens, avoiding fruit god would not allow

Evolving, discovering, mastering improv

Feeling things that felt too good, but painted a snafu

Growing, with no place to unload, spat

Hollow with suffering, from unknown loneliness

Incarcerated as a single voice, his jaw ajar

Jesting upward, and then, as if on cue

Kneeling, extracting a rib, POP

Laying it in the caldron God’s olio

Managing to drift asleep, while still being ashen

Nudged, suddenly, by Eve’s bosom

Opened mouthed, like a feral Jackal

Pushing inward, with a solid red brick

Quickly, and violently, like a rogue Blue-Jay

Robbing the Robins from ever seeing sky

Swimming in a double standard myth

Tossing women, forever, in the brig

Unwarranted, being clad, now breaking off

Veering toward the greatest lie

Warping human mind

Xeroxing a deceiving sea

You, Eve, were falsely slain on the slab

Zealots continue to hammer, while you brilliantly sway

Bill Graydon: Age 36, New England Native, have lived in Florida for the past six years. Served eight years in the Military, and finally cashing in on the GI Bill. Planning on Graduating in Dec 2010! Talk Nerdy to Me

by A. J. Haviaras

Talk Nerdy to Me

Talk nerdy to me

And I will talk nerdy to you

You can tank and spank me

Come ride my epic mount

Grind all your levels with me

I will be your ling if you be my overlord

Don’t zerg my pylon

Take your time, no rushing

Talk nerdy to me

And I will talk nerdy to you

Mario had the right idea

Get the mushroom, super size for the princess

Just gotta ride my Yoshi

You can be my master hand

Sure, just super smash

Or my Kirby, inhale me again and again

Talk nerdy to me

And I will talk nerdy to you

Help me now, my Orihime

Control my Raiestu

Together we can achieve Bankai

Or make it a Fairy Tail

Can you be my dragonslayer

I am your S ranked mission

So talk nerdy to me, my dear

And I will talk nerdy to you, just be a nerd for me

A Kiss

by Michelle Schwabach

More than just a kiss when it’s

The kiss that a young women gives to her husband on her wedding day

The kiss she gives her husband goodbye as he heads off to war

The kiss she gives her new born baby boy for the first time

The kiss she gives her husband as he returns from war

The kiss he gives his son for the first time

The kiss that together the parents give there son as he heads off to start his first day of school

Finally a kiss is more than just a kiss when a mother and a father kiss there son goodbye, as he now heads off to war

About Michelle:  “My name is Michele and I am Married with two kids. I have lived here in Florida all of my life and enjoy spending time boating with my family. This has been a very long and cold winter and we are ready to get out on the water as soon as it warms up. I have spent the past seven years selling real estate. After the downturn of the economy and a major drop in business I decided to return to school. This has been quite a challenge for me as I am now 38 years old and have a lot of responsibility as a mom. Though I do enjoy the challenge.”

Pink cherry blossom petals like puckered lips

in clusters against a blue backdrop of sky.

Her hair down her back like spilled ink,

lifting weightless in the wind.

Plaid skirts running by in a blur,

hands over mouths shielding giggles.

A statue with an aura of green leaves,

cross legged in eternal zen.

A white cobblestone bridge arched like an eldery back,

sitting strong and brave over still waters.

I Would Like to Say a Few Things About Myself

By PJ German

I Would Like to Say a Few Things about Myself

My name is P.J. German

and I am divorced.

Long story short: my ex-wife had an affair

And left me for the guy.

That’s what happens when you have a small penis

I am a – to the bone – Re Pub Li Can

and Tea Party Member!

I like Neil Cavuto, Shepard Smith, Glenn Beck,

and best of all

Bill O’ – freaken – Reilly!

And yes, I do like Bush.

Quiet down you perverts.

I am the best guy you could possibly date.

I open doors, pay for dinner,

and brag to my friends about how wonderful you are.

I can cook. The best meals I make are:

frozen White Castle burgers,

Pizza rolls, and Ramen Noodles.

I am amazing when it comes to sex.

I once got a girl off nine times in three hours.

No, wait a minute…

That’s when I overheard my dad getting my mom off.

In all seriousness, I am not good at sex;

I have a small penis.

I remember one girlfriend looked at it and said,

‘Aww… isn’t that cute!’

Then she sat staring at it.

Finally she started to play with it

and that’s when I said,

‘You are a naughty boy.’

Girl! Naughty girl!

I am a strong and devoted Christian.

Now, I am not perfect;

if I was, I have about seven years left before the

Jews decide to kill me.

And yes, I like racist jokes.

(What’s white, 12 inches long, and hard?

Nothing.

It only comes in black.)

I used to smoke pot, which explains quite a bit.

Now I smoke cigarettes and drink occasionally.

If there are any ladies out there

who are interested in me, go ahead and raise your hand.

Just as I thought – no one.

I guess that’s what happens when you have a small penis.

You Bring Out

By P.J. German

You bring out the English in me

The proper man who opens your door

And walks on the outside of the sidewalk

You bring out the German in me

The shove you in the oven and bake you

Till your skin bubbles like leavened bread

You bring out the Irish in me

The drown my sorrows in alcohol

Because you’re not the blarney stone I wished for

You bring out the American in me

Bar/club hopping, dancing with strangers

Grinding my body against her’s to forget you

You bring out the ass in me

The sarcastic jerk

The comedic know-it-all

The ‘I don’t care you’re hurt’

The problematic problem solver and

The paranoid analyzer

But most of all

You bring out the forgiveness in me
